Job summary

NAI COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a diligent Buyer to support purchasing and material planning in a manufacturing setting, ensuring materials are available to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics or a related field.
• Relevant working experience in Purchasing/Procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Good negotiation, sourcing and supplier-management skills.
• Strong follow-up skills, especially for material shortages and delivery commitments.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials, components, consumables and other items according to production and business requirements.
• Review purchase requisitions and issue Purchase Orders (PO) accurately and on time.
• Monitor material requirements and ensure timely delivery to support production schedules.
• Follow up closely on outstanding Purchase Orders, shortages and delivery commitments.
• Expedite urgent materials when necessary to minimize production disruption.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Engineering and Quality on material-related matters.
• Source and evaluate suitable suppliers based on price, quality, delivery and service performance.
• Request and compare supplier quotations and negotiate for competitive pricing, lead time, payment terms and other commercial conditions.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up on late or incomplete deliveries.
• Identify cost-saving and alternative sourcing opportunities without compromising quality and production requirements.
