Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks a Senior Purchaser to lead the procurement team and oversee end-to-end sourcing, vendor management, and cost-saving initiatives. You will handle daily procurement activities, support junior staff, and resolve supplier issues to maintain smooth operations.

Key responsibilities
Assist the Procurement Manager in managing daily procurement activities and ensuring timely PR-to-PO processing
Support and guide junior team members on sourcing, negotiation, supplier issues, and procurement procedures
Act as the first point of escalation for operational and vendor-related issues
Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with procurement SOPs
Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports, including cost savings, PR-to-PO cycle time, and supplier performance
Monitor procurement KPIs and follow up on areas requiring improvement
Manage end-to-end sourcing for MRO items, spare parts, industrial consumables, facility maintenance, and technical services
Manage RFQ, RFP, tender exercises, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations
Source, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers and contractors
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranty, and service agreements
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 3–5 years in procurement or sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience in MRO, spare parts, equipment, facility services, or technical engineering services
Preferably 1–2 years of experience in a senior, team lead, or supervisory role
Able to understand engineering drawings, machine parts, and technical specifications
Experience in RFQ, RFP, tendering, supplier evaluation, and negotiation
Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle and Microsoft Office
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills in English and Mandarin will be an added advantage
