You will manage end-to-end planning and purchasing activities, including MRP planning, PR/PO management, supplier follow-up, shortage handling and CTB/MPS reporting to support on-time delivery. EMS/PCBA experience and strong Excel/ERP skills are highly valued.
We are looking for a Material Planner Cum Buyer to join our growing EMS/PCBA manufacturing team. The role is responsible for ensuring timely material availability to support production and customer demand, while maintaining healthy inventory levels and effective supplier performance.
The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end material planning and purchasing activities, including MRP planning, purchase requisition (PR), purchase order (PO) management, supplier delivery follow-up, shortage management, inventory control and supplier coordination.
Candidates with hands‑on experience in EMS/PCBA manufacturing, material planning, purchasing or supply chain operations are strongly preferred.
Review MRP results and analyse material requirements based on customer demand and production plans.
Prepare and release weekly Purchase Requisitions (PR) accurately and on time.
Develop and maintain effective material plans and Full Kit plans to support production requirements.
Prepare and submit the weekly CTB (Commitment to Build) report within the required timeline.
Support MPS (Master Production Schedule) commitment and ensure material readiness to achieve customer OTD/OTR targets.
Monitor inventory levels, material consumption and excess/slow‑moving inventory.
Continuously improve inventory turns and material efficiency while minimizing shortage and excess inventory risks.
Prepare and release Purchase Orders (PO) to suppliers based on approved requirements.
Monitor PO status, supplier order confirmation and delivery schedules.
Ensure supplier delivery commitments are updated accurately in the ERP system within the required timeframe.
Follow up closely with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered according to production requirements.
Review and take timely PO actions based on changes in demand, production schedules and actual material requirements.
Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier‑related records in the ERP system.
Monitor material shortages and identify potential supply risks before they impact production.
Work closely with suppliers to expedite and resolve critical shortage parts.
Follow the company's material shortage escalation process and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality and other departments to ensure continuous material supply.
Proactively identify supply risks and implement appropriate recovery actions.
Maintain effective communication and negotiation with suppliers on delivery, lead time, capacity and material availability.
Support the Quality Department in resolving supplier quality issues and follow up on corrective actions when required.
Coordinate with relevant departments on supplier quality issues, customs declarations, ECN changes, payment matters and other purchasing‑related activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material planning, purchasing, supplier performance and cost/inventory control.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in material planning, purchasing or supply chain management.
EMS / PCBA manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to MRP, MPS, material planning, purchasing and inventory control will be an advantage.
Candidates with strong hands‑on experience in material shortage management and supplier coordination are encouraged to apply.
Good knowledge of MRP, MPS, material planning, inventory control and purchasing processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and ERP systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret material requirements, inventory data and supply information.
Experience in Full Kit planning, CTB reporting and shortage management is an advantage.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems used in manufacturing environments is preferred.
Good command of English and Mandarin, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
