Job summary

Great Eastern is seeking a Branch Manager/Leader to drive sales, manage agents, and guide the team toward yearly growth targets in Malaysia. You will focus on strengthening renewals, grooming talent, and maintaining underwriting profitability in line with company appetite.

You will conduct risk inspections, exercise underwriting authority, and collaborate with stakeholders to support customers while upholding regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Basic degree in any discipline or insurance qualification (AMII/DMII).
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in sales or marketing; preferably in Financial Products.
• Competencies in Leadership, Problem solving, Interpersonal, Sales & marketing, Business acumen and industry knowledge.
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
• Takes initiative to improve current state and adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the sales, management and profitability of the agents and assist the Branch Manager to meet the Branch objectives and goals.
• Achieve yearly growth target of the agents (and team/unit as a leader).
• Conserve renewals and grow the agency force through grooming and recruitment.
• Ensure the development of portfolio mix and achieving underwriting profit in alignment with Company appetite.
• Conduct risks inspection and acceptance whilst exercising the Underwriting Authority Limit as assigned by the Company.
• Ensure effective and efficient support in managing the agents and their customers.
• Provide guidance to the staff under their care (as a team/unit leader) in areas of technical knowledge and career path.
• Work with other stakeholders as required by the Company.
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
