About the role We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive (Freight and Transportation) to join Kintetsu World Express (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Kelana Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth and expand our market presence within the freight and cargo forwarding industry. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and developing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. You will play a key part in strengthening our competitive position and contributing to the overall success of the organisation through proactive business development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the freight and transportation sector

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to drive revenue growth

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business development strategies

Prepare compelling proposals, quotations and presentations to potential customers

Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure service delivery excellence and client satisfaction

Monitor industry trends and provide recommendations to enhance service offerings

Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators

Attend industry events, trade shows and networking functions to build brand awareness and generate leads

Maintain accurate records and documentation of business development activities and client interactions

Support the development of business plans and marketing strategies for assigned segments or regions

What we're looking for

Proven track record in business development, sales or account management within the freight, logistics or transportation industry

Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, supply chain management and international logistics

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities and close business deals

Results-oriented mindset with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets

Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) systems and Microsoft Office applications

Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Commerce or a related discipline

Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and business development activities

Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
