Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Maintenance Technician to carry out routine inspection, patrol and maintenance of railway bridges, tunnels and other civil infrastructure. You will assist in preventive and corrective maintenance to uphold safety and reliability and report defects under established standards.

Qualifications include a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil/Railway/Structural Engineering or related field.

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, internship or industrial training in railway/bridge/civil construction adds advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

  • Responsible, proactive and safety-conscious.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willing to work outdoors, on shifts and at project sites when required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspection, patrol and maintenance of railway bridges, tunnels, culverts, embankments and other civil infrastructure.
  • Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure safety and reliability of railway infrastructure.
  • Identify, report and assist in rectifying defects in civil structures per maintenance standards.
  • Record maintenance activities accurately and prepare basic inspection reports.
  • Comply with company safety procedures and applicable railway maintenance standards.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
