Job summary

JALEN DISTRIBUTORS SDN BHD (JB) in Kuching is seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to oversee daily Depoh activities, implement sales and marketing strategies, and lead a team to achieve targets.

You will monitor inventory, ensure compliance, prepare reports to HQ, and drive process improvements while maintaining safety and high customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/admin or related field.
• Experience in retail management or operations.
• Strong leadership and inventory management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure smooth daily operation of the Depoh.
• Develop and execute sales, promotional, and marketing strategies to achieve targets.
• Lead, supervise, coach, and motivate staff to high performance and service standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and prevent stock discrepancies, losses, and wastage.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Oversee and ensure the smooth, efficient, and systematic operation of the Depoh on a daily basis. Develop and execute sales, promotional, and marketing strategies to achieve sales targets. Lead, supervise, coach, and motivate staff to achieve high performance, productivity, and customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels while preventing stock discrepancies, losses, and wastage

Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards

Prepare and submit daily operational and sales reports to HQ, ensuring accurate and timely reporting

Conduct daily morning briefings and monthly staff meetings to align employees with business objectives and operational updates

Ensure all HQ directives, circulars, policies, and memos are effectively communicated to employees and properly understood

Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely stock replenishment, delivery schedules, and operational support

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability

Ensure workplace safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues professionally, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail management
• Strong leadership, inventory management, and team supervision skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation
