Job summary

Sri Nona Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Boiler Technician to operate and maintain the boiler and related air systems in our food manufacturing plant. You will follow GMP practices and ensure safe, reliable plant operations.

You will lead safety investigations for incidents, coordinate maintenance planning, and support engineering with inventory control and cost monitoring. The role requires shift work, including weekends and public holidays, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Competency Boilerman Steam Engine Grade I or II issued by JKKP / DOSH.
• Diploma / Certificate / SKM Level 3 in Boiler Operation & Maintenance Services, Mechanical Engineering.
• SPM in Mechanical from Technical or Vocational school.
• Minimum of 1–2 years’ working experience in manufacturing or engineering works.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety, health, and environment policies and drive compliance.
• Initiate investigations for accidents/incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safe workplace and uphold GMP in daily operations.
• Support engineering planning, maintenance programs, stock counts and downtime planning.
• Monitor engineering orders (SAP) variances and control consumables usage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, stock counting and material transfers.
• Lead labour relations and ensure proper leave/overtime reporting.

What will you do?

Management ambassador for all management safety, health and environment policies, direction and values.

Initiate investigation for any accident/incident/near miss to identify the root cause and propose corrective/preventive actions.

Ensure safe workplace environment for employees at all the time.

Quality Management

Implement and maintain the Quality Monitoring Scheme to ensure manufacturing process meeting the expectation on the food safety & quality aspects of control.

Carry out routine check, monitor and verification on the engineering recording to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Supply Management

Coordinate with the support team for the engineering planning to include maintenance program, stock count, planned downtime or annual shutdown.

Cost Management

Carry out routine check, monitor, verification and justification on the variances in Engineering Orders (SAP).

Carry out routine check and monitor for the engineering consumables purchase and usage.

Perform routine monitoring for inventory management i.e. stock count, consumption, write-off, reconciliation, material transfer.

People Management

Maintains industrial harmony and ensures compliance to all labour laws related.

Carry out routine check, monitor and approval on the peoples’ leave and overtime to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

General Management

Primary function is responsible for operating and maintaining the boiler and the auxiliaries in the boiler house and the steam / condensate piping.

Responsible for operating and maintaining the compressed air and the auxiliaries at the compressed air area and the compressed air piping.

Practising GMP’s system in working and housekeeping at workplace.

Report to superior for any abnormality or non-compliance action / activity.

Perform any task assign by the management.

About you?

Functional Skills and Capabilities required

Able to operate and handling boiler and compressed air.

Familiar with boiler and compressed air process, operation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.

Comfortable to work on shift basis, weekends and public holidays.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirement
