Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced boiler operator to support production by running and monitoring industrial steam boilers. You will perform daily start-up and shutdown procedures, monitor pressure, temperature, water level, and fuel flow, and ensure proper water treatment.

Key requirements include a valid Boilerman Grade 2 Certificate of Competency, 2–3 years of boiler experience, and familiarity with DOSH/JKKP safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Boilerman Grade 2 certificate required
• SPM or equivalent technical qualification
• 2–3 years of industrial boiler operation and maintenance experience
• Familiar with DOSH/JKKP safety regulations and boiler safety standards
• Understanding of boiler fuels and safety valve control

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor industrial steam boiler systems for continuous steam supply
• Perform daily boiler start-up and shutdown procedures
• Monitor and control boiler parameters: pressure, temperature, water level, fuel flow
• Maintain boiler logs and perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Ensure water treatment and chemical dosing to prevent corrosion and scaling
• Adhere to safety regulations and report any abnormalities immediately
• Contribute to energy efficiency and cost controls

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Boilerman Grade 2 Certificate of Competency issued by DOSH / JKKP Malaysia
• Minimum SPM or equivalent technical qualification
• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is an advantage
• Minimum 2–3 years of industrial boiler operation and maintenance experience
• Experience with water-tube or fire-tube boiler systems is preferred
• In-depth understanding of boiler operations, steam systems, and water treatment processes
• Familiar with DOSH/JKKP safety regulations and industrial boiler safety standards
• Knowledge of boiler fuels (e.g., diesel, natural gas, biomass) is an advantage
• Understanding of pressure, temperature, and safety valve control

Responsibilities

• 1. Boiler Operation & Monitoring
  • Operate and monitor industrial steam boiler systems to ensure stable and continuous steam supply for production
  • Perform daily boiler start-up and shutdown procedures
  • Monitor and control boiler performance parameters including pressure, temperature, water level, and fuel flow
  • Ensure proper water treatment and chemical dosing to prevent scaling and corrosion
• 2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of boilers and related equipment
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; take corrective actions promptly
  • Replace or repair components such as valves, gaskets, pipes, safety valves, and pressure gauges as needed
  • Maintain boiler logs, including operational data, fuel usage, and maintenance history
• 3. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all boiler systems are operated in compliance with DOSH/JKKP regulations and industrial safety standards
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safe work practices
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of operations, maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Adhere to environmental standards and company safety procedures
• 4. Efficiency & Energy Management
  • Optimize fuel consumption to achieve operational cost efficiency
  • Implement best practices for energy conservation
  • Monitor system for leaks, faults, or any operational abnormalities
