Job summary

Paragon Paper & Plywood Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Boilerman/Boiler Attendant to operate, monitor, and control high‑pressure boilers in a manufacturing setting. You will ensure a continuous steam supply to meet production needs and perform start‑ups/shutdowns with careful load adjustments.

Your role includes monitoring key parameters, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring water treatment and fuel handling are properly managed.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory: Boilerman / Boiler Attendant Grade 1 Certificate from a competent authority.
  • Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years operating high-pressure boilers in a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience: Coal / oil / gas / biomass boilers (as applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor and control high-pressure boilers in manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure continuous steam supply as per production requirements.
  • Perform boiler start-up, shutdown and load adjustments.
  • Monitor pressure, temperature, water level, fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of boilers and auxiliaries.
  • Ensure proper water treatment, blowdown and fuel handling practices.
  • Maintain daily logbooks, shift records and compliance documents.
  • Detect faults, troubleshoot issues and take corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Boiler Act and safety standards.
  • Supervise and guide junior boilermen or operators, if required.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of water treatment and steam distribution systems
  • Familiarity with manufacturing utility requirements
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills
