Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a qualified and licensed Competent Boilerman to safely operate, log, monitor, and maintain our plant's steam boiler and ancillary utility systems. The role ensures zero downtime and strict compliance with local safety laws, including DOSH.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Certificate of Competency as Steam Boilerman (Grade 1 or 2) issued by JKKP/DOSH Malaysia.
• Education: minimum SPM, SKM or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering.
• Experience: 2–3 years handling boilers in manufacturing or heavy industries.
• Knowledge of the Factories and Machinery Act 1967 and pressure vessel regulations.
• Languages: Conversational Bahasa Melayu and basic English.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: safe startup, continuous monitoring, and structured shutdown of steam boilers and pressure vessels.
• System Testing: regular blowdowns, water sampling, chemical dosing, and water treatment quality checks.
• Inspections: daily shift rounds to track temperature, pressure, fuel consumption, and feed water levels.
• Log Documentation: maintain meticulous records in the Boiler Log Book per DOSH/JKKP Malaysia laws.
• Routine Maintenance: clean parts, fix leaks, clear fuel systems, support major shutdowns.
• Emergency Management: diagnose issues and execute emergency shutdowns if safety thresholds breach.
• Audit Assistance: prepare systems for statutory annual inspections and hydrostatic tests by DOSH auditors.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations: Safe startup, continuous monitoring, and structured shutdown of steam boilers and pressure vessels.

System Testing: Perform regular blowdowns, water sampling, chemical dosing, and water treatment quality checks.

Inspections: Conduct daily shift rounds to track temperature, pressure, fuel consumption, and feed water levels.

Log Documentation: Maintain meticulous records in the Boiler Log Book as strictly mandated by DOSH / JKKP Malaysia laws.

Routine Maintenance: Clean parts, fix minor leaks, clear fuel systems, and support engineering teams during major shutdowns.

Emergency Management: Diagnose issues immediately and execute emergency emergency shutdowns if safety thresholds breach.

Audit Assistance: Prepare systems for statutory annual inspections and hydrostatic tests conducted by DOSH auditors.

Requirements & Qualifications

Certification: Must hold a valid Certificate of Competency as a Steam Boilerman (Grade 1 or Grade 2) issued by JKKP/DOSH Malaysia.

Education: Minimum SPM, SKM, or Diploma equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plant Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience handling boilers in manufacturing, palm oil mills, or heavy industries.

Legal Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Factories and Machinery Act 1967 and its pressure vessel regulations.

Language: Conversational proficiency in both Bahasa Melayu and basic English.

Working Conditions: Willingness to work on rotating shift schedules, public holidays, or overtime as needed by production cycles.
