Job summary

GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGY SDN.BHD. is seeking a seasoned MEP Engineer to ensure reliable operation and continuous improvement of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure across global data centers.

You will lead cross-site coordination with local FM/FE teams and vendors to uphold safety, reliability, and standardized practices. You will drive preventive maintenance, risk assessments, and technical projects, establish guidelines, and participate in commissioning, drills, and audits

Job description

This role is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of critical MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) infrastructure across global/overseas data centers. The position requires strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, data center infrastructure operations, risk management, preventive maintenance, and technical project implementation. The engineer will coordinate local FM/FE teams and vendors to ensure safe, reliable, and standardized MEP operations across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

Responsible for the reliable operation and maintenance of critical MEP systems in overseas data centers, including electrical distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, cooling, water supply and drainage systems.

Coordinate local FM/FE teams to complete MEP equipment inventory, system documentation, asset mapping, inspection, and continuous data/documentation updates.

Organize local teams to conduct MEP system inspections, preventive maintenance, performance assessments, and technical optimization to ensure infrastructure reliability.

Lead the development, implementation, and regular drills of EOP/MOP/SOP procedures for critical MEP systems, ensuring effective emergency response and operational readiness.

Conduct technical assessments and optimization of MEP systems, and develop standardized solutions for recurring technical issues across data center sites.

Lead MEP risk assessments, technical change reviews, maintenance verification, operational optimization, and global data center technical audits.

Drive the implementation of critical MEP technologies, standards, and engineering solutions across global data centers to ensure reliable operation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Supervise vendors and contractors during on-site MEP installation, maintenance, modification, commissioning, and testing activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical requirements.

Participate in MEP system commissioning, functional testing, integrated system testing (IST), emergency drills, and project handover to ensure systems meet design and operational requirements.

Establish and continuously improve global MEP operation and maintenance standards, technical guidelines, inspection checklists, and lessons-learned databases to enhance overall data center infrastructure reliability.
