Job summary

LONGMOTIVE (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced M&E Engineer to plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical works in MEP construction projects, focusing on HVAC/ACMV systems and related utilities.

You will ensure conformity with drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project targets, while coordinating with consultants, clients, and subcontractors. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in construction projects.
• Experience with ACMV systems and related mechanical utilities is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise and execute mechanical works in MEP projects (HVAC/ACMV).
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, safety standards and schedules.
• Prepare shop drawings, method statements and BOQ documents.
• Review RFIs and coordinate with consultants, clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct site QA/QC inspections and ensure ISO/EHS compliance.
• Coordinate T&C and IST activities with subcontractors and vendors.
• Maintain accurate as-built records and close punch lists.

Job description

As a M&E Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing mechanical works in MEP construction projects mainly HVAC/ACMV systems and mechanical utilities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, and project targets.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Monitor and support daily ACMV and FDS construction activities on site.
• Ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and construction schedules.
• Coordinate construction sequencing and site progress for ACMV and FDS works.
• Prepare, review, and submit technical documentation, including:
  • o Shop Drawings
  • o Method Statements
  • o Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
• Coordinate design clarifications and manage RFIs with consultants, clients, and relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and QA/QC checks for ACMV and FDS installation works.
• Monitor workmanship quality and manage punch list closure.
• Identify non-conformances (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with project standards and local authority requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams for Testing & Commissioning (T&C) and Integrated System Test (IST) activities.
• Ensure T&C records and as-built documentation are complete and accurate.
• Ensure all works comply with EHS requirements, including Permit to Work (PTW) and risk assessments.
• Maintain strict safety controls for HVAC works and fuel system activities.

QALIFICATIONS /JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2. Minimum 3-5 Years Mechanical Engineer in construction projects. Experience in high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, or data center projects is an advantage.
• 3. Technical Skills (Mandatory):
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC/ACMV systemsand mechanical utilities.
  • Ducting and insulation works
  • Chilled water / condenser water piping
  • Ventilation and exhaust systems
  • Strong Good understanding of HVAC equipment such as AHU, FCU, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
