Job summary

Bridge Data Centres Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) to lead maintenance tasks for our critical data centre environment in Cyberjaya. You will oversee daily operations, ensure electrical and mechanical systems run efficiently, and coordinate with vendors to uphold uptime and safety.

You will perform repairs, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to change control, incident reporting, and on-site testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering with at least 3 years in a data centre or Hi-Tech facility.
• Experience with electrical systems including HVAC, UPS, generators and switchgear.
• Ability to write SOPs and incident reports in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day maintenance and monitor performance of critical systems.
• Repair and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems with minimal disruption.
• Supervise vendor work and ensure adherence to maintenance methods.
• Manage change control for safe operation and modifications.

Job description

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

Overall lead for maintenance task assigned and monitor performance of assigned responsibilities. Perform repair and/or troubleshoot ensuring that work performed in critical environment is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience to customer.

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, and inspections of assigned critical environment systems, which may include the following Electrical systems on mechanical including HVAC, computer room air conditioners, chillers, and plumbing electrical (including UPS, DC battery systems, PDU, generators, transfer switches, and switchgear).

Responsible for supervising prior to sign-off the maintained equipment/system done by maintenance vendor or OEM vendor. Ensure maintenance vendor follows closely to the maintenance work method statement without deviation and sign off for each work step. Should abnormality occur, call for work halt and elevate to monitoring centre and seek for Maintenance Manager work clearance prior to proceeding to perform troubleshoot and/or investigation.

Process Change Control Application Process work efforts (including 3rd party contractors) for the safe and compliant operation, maintenance (corrective and preventive), and modification of critical equipment. Ensuring standard operating procedures and maintenance work instructions are up to standard.

Perform the role of technical support onsite, guiding team members on first level fault analysis with vendor discussions. Provide directions and guidance for team members on new facilities testing and commissioning, working closely with the project team.

Provide on-the-job training and technical support to engineers and technicians.

Monitor critical spare parts inventory levels onsite to ensure continuous operation without impact. Provides recommendations to Manager for the quantity and types of critical parts required to support the facilities operation.

Deliver all maintenance tasks for customer’s service level agreement and always comply to the SLA covers, such as incidents to elevate to customer within 15 minutes upon reporting to monitoring centre, written incident reports to issue within 24 hours, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in English through all mediums of communication. Ability to write and review good quality detailed work scripts, methods of procedure, and standard operating procedures. Prepare incident report.

Good knowledge of all laws that govern building management and maintenance, including building safety, emergency evacuation and environment protection.

Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field with min. 3 years of relevant work experience in Data Centre environment or Hi-tech factory/plant (e.g., semi-conductor).

Technical knowledge with hands on knowledge/experience and understanding of critical data center systems, focusing mainly on electrical systems, including and not limited to HVAC, Standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.

Proficient in computer applications and software, including commercial computerized maintenance management systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Requires working out of office hours as technical support, 24/7 support to site operation team. To be onsite for incident support.
