Forest City Hotel in Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Bar Supervisor to lead the bar team and ensure smooth daily operations while upholding hotel standards.

You will prepare and serve beverages to standard recipes, monitor service quality, manage stock, train bartenders, ensure hygiene and safety, handle guest queries, and coordinate with other departments for events and guest requirements.

Job description

Supervise and lead the bar team to ensure smooth daily operations and compliance with hotel standards and procedures.

Prepare and serve beverages according to standard recipes while ensuring proper portioning, presentation, quality, and consistency.

Monitor guest service, handle drink orders and recommendations, and ensure a welcoming and professional bar experience for guests.

Ensure the bar is fully stocked with beverages, garnishes, glassware, and bar equipment, and monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages.

Train, guide, and coach bartenders and new team members on beverage preparation, service standards, POS procedures, and bar operations.

Monitor the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the bar counter, shelves, storage areas, and surrounding work areas.

Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service guidelines and monitor guests’ alcohol consumption in accordance with hotel policies.

Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and service issues professionally, and upscale significant matters to the supervisor or manager when necessary.

Assist with inventory control, stock counting, ordering, and reporting of low-stock items, damaged equipment, or operational issues.

Ensure accurate processing of payments through the POS system and proper handling of receipts and cash transactions.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food hygiene, and hotel operating standards.

Assist with the opening and closing procedures of the bar, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and end-of-shift duties.

Monitor team attendance, work performance, grooming, and adherence to assigned duties and shift schedules.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of beverage menus, promotions, events, and new products, and ensure the team is properly informed.

Coordinate with other departments to support events, functions, promotions, and special guest requirements as assigned.
