Job summary

Qian Xi Wu Yu PLT in Kota Kinabalu is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare pastries, plate desserts, and assist with daily food prep. You will heat, garnish, and serve items while upholding quality and presentation standards.

No experience is required as training will be provided. Experience in a café, bakery, or F&B is an advantage; weekend work is required. The role emphasizes cleanliness, hygiene, and teamwork in a busy café environment.

Qualifications

• Passionate about food preparation and presentation.
• Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Able to work weekends and public holidays according to roster.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and plate pastries, cakes, and other light food items according to company standards.
• Heat, garnish, and serve food items while ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Assist with daily food preparation and ingredient portioning.
• Receive, label, and store ingredients and supplies properly.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper food storage procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.
• Wash utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment after use.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Perform opening and closing kitchen duties.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks when required.
• Support other café operations during busy periods as assigned by the supervisor.
