Job summary

HTC Global Services MSC Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Backup & Recovery Engineer to manage enterprise backup and data protection solutions, with Cohesity expertise and strong experience in Windows/Linux environments.

You will administer Cohesity, support cloud backups on Azure/AWS, and automate tasks with Python/Ansible while handling databases and SAN storage basics. Power BI dashboards reporting is part of the role.

Backup & Recovery Engineer (Cohesity / Enterprise Data Protection)

We are looking for an experienced Backup & Recovery Engineer to manage and support enterprise backup and data protection solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise backup platforms, cloud backup technologies, Windows/Linux environments, and backup automation. Experience with Cohesity, cloud backup platforms, and Power BI administration will be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

Manage and support enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection solutions

Administer and maintain Cohesity and other enterprise backup platforms

Support cloud backup solutions across Azure, AWS, and AvePoint environments

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backup and recovery operations to ensure data availability and protection

Work with backup technologies such as Veritas NetBackup, Dell NetWorker, Avamar, and Veeam

Support backup operations for Windows and Linux servers, as well as databases such as Oracle, SAP HANA, and Microsoft SQL Server

Work with storage infrastructure and have a basic understanding of SAN technologies, including Fibre Channel (FC) and iSCSI

Automate backup administration and operational tasks using Python, Ansible, or other scripting tools

Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for backup deployments

Administer Power BI dashboards and reporting for backup operations and infrastructure performance

About you

Extensive experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions, particularly Continuous Data Management (CDM) or related data protection technologies

Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Cohesity is highly desirable

Experience with cloud backup platforms such as Azure, AWS, and AvePoint

Experience with enterprise backup tools such as Veritas NetBackup, Dell NetWorker, Avamar, or Veeam is preferred

Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems

Experience supporting backups for Oracle, SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server, or other enterprise databases

Basic understanding of SAN storage protocols, including FC and iSCSI

Scripting or automation experience using Python, Ansible, or similar technologies is preferred

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for backup deployments

Experience administering Power BI dashboards and generating operational reports
