Job summary

HTC Global Services MSC Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage enterprise database environments across MidRange/Wintel platforms. The role covers installation, upgrades, backup, recovery, DR, monitoring and capacity planning.

The candidate should have 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience, strong knowledge of Oracle Database Administration, and hands-on experience with RAC and data replication technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience on MidRange/Wintel databases.
• Bachelor's Degree in IT or Diploma with relevant IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Administration, installation, upgrades and patching.
• Experience in database performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Proficient in backup, recovery, monitoring and alert automation.
• Experience with Disaster Recovery and clustering technologies.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain and support enterprise database environments across MidRange/Wintel platforms. The role will be responsible for database administration, performance, availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, upgrades and capacity planning.

Key responsibilities

Perform Oracle Database Administration, including installation, configuration, upgrades and patching.

Monitor and perform database performance tuning and optimization.

Manage database backup and recovery activities.

Automate database monitoring and alert generation.

Support and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) environments and processes.

Implement and support database clustering technologies such as Oracle RAC, HACMP, Veritas Cluster and Windows Cluster.

Manage and support database replication technologies including Oracle Data Guard, Oracle GoldenGate and Disk Replication.

Perform DBMS installation, upgrades and maintenance.

Ensure database environments comply with established standards and procedures.

Perform capacity management and capacity planning.

About you

Minimum 5 years of Database Administration experience on MidRange/Wintel databases.

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience, OR Diploma in IT with a minimum of 7 years of relevant IT experience.

Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Administration.

Oracle Database installation, upgrades and patching.

Database performance tuning.

Backup & Recovery.

Database monitoring and alert automation.

Disaster Recovery.

Oracle RAC and clustering technologies.

Database replication using Data Guard, GoldenGate and Disk Replication.
