Job summary

HTC Global Services MSC Sdn Bhd is seeking a Database Platform Specialist in Kuala Lumpur to manage on‑premises and cloud database platforms. You will handle Oracle and SQL Server, plus cloud services on Azure and AWS, ensuring security, reliability, and optimal performance across Windows and Linux environments.

You will collaborate with global teams, implement security baselines, and support agile DB initiatives. A degree or diploma in IT/CS with relevant experience is required.

• Hands‑on with Oracle and SQL Server installations, configurations, and upgrades.
• Experience managing cloud DB services on Azure and AWS.

• Manage daily database operations including incident resolution and maintenance.

• Perform performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Oversee cloud DB services across Azure and AWS (Azure SQL, Azure PostgreSQL, RDS).
• Implement security baselines, access controls, patches, and vulnerability remediation.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable DB solutions.

We are looking for a Database Platform Specialist to manage, maintain, and optimise business-critical database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, AWS, and Windows/Linux operating systems, ensuring database availability, security, performance, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily database operations, including incident resolution, performance monitoring, database refreshes, access management, backup, and recovery.
• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain database platforms to meet business and application requirements.
• Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Manage cloud database services across Microsoft Azure and AWS, including Azure SQL, Azure PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Implement security baselines, access controls, patches, and vulnerability remediation to ensure database security and compliance.
• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure engineers, and global stakeholders to deliver reliable database solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Agile practices and standardised database management processes.

About you

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, with relevant experience in database administration or platform support.
• Strong knowledge of database installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning, patching, and upgrades.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience managing cloud database services on Microsoft Azure and AWS, including Azure SQL, Azure PostgreSQL, and Amazon RDS.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a global, multicultural environment.
