Job summary

Verinon Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Backup Engineer to provide engineering and operational support for MBB Backup Infrastructure, focusing on BAU and project work. You'll define SOPs, document backup processes, manage multi-petabyte systems such as Veritas Appliances, Data Domain, Exagrid, NetBackup and Veeam, and collaborate with DPS Lead to deliver critical projects.

Requires 5 years experience and a degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or relevant discipline
• Minimum 5 years hands on experience in one of the Backup technologies (Veritas, Veeam, Cohesity or Commvault)
• Experience in handling multi-petabyte Backup infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Backup Process and Procedures
• Experience with Disk Appliances such as Veritas Appliances, Data Domain, Exagrid
• Strong problem and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
• Experience with collaborating and project management skills
• Able to work under pressurised environments with minimum guidance
• Strong understanding of Database technologies such as Oracle, SQL, Sybase, and IBM DB2

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and project support for backup infrastructure

• Handle tapes and procedures involved in tape management
• Collaborate with DPS lead to ensure project milestones

To provide engineering and operational support for MBB Backup Infrastructure. Primary scope is to provide Operational support and Project support for Backup infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

Work closely with Lead/Head, DPS to deliver critical projects

Support day to day BAU operations and eliminate frequent backup failures

Collaborate with team members on backup operations and infrastructure projects

Monitor and manage multi-petabyte backup infrastructure

Handle tapes and procedures involved in tape management

About you

Bachelor's Degree in IT or relevant discipline
