Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead interviews with executive, IT, facilities, and end-user teams to set technology standards.
• Develop engineering drawings, floor plans, RCPs, and rack elevations.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical, and HVAC engineers on physical requirements.
• Review noise criteria, STC targets, and lighting for video capture.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure cabling and backing meet specs.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and change orders to protect budgets.
• Perform SAT to verify audio tuning, video matrixing, and network protocols.
• Issue punch lists and verify resolutions prior to payments.

Job description

Stakeholder Visioning: Lead interviews with executive, IT, facilities, and end-user teams to establish technology standards (e.g., hybrid meeting spaces, digital signage, spatial acoustics).

2. Schematic & Detailed System Design

• Engineering Drawings: Deview vendor AV-IT system signal flows, floor plan layouts, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), and rack elevation drawings.
• Architectural & MEP Coordination: coordinate physical requirements for architects, electrical contractors, and HVAC engineers—including conduit sizes, floor box locations, wall backing, power draws, and heat dissipation (BTU output).
• Acoustic & Lighting Design: review noise criteria (NC ratings), Sound Transmission Class (STC) targets, and lighting requirements for video capture.

3. Construction Administration & Technical Audit

• Compliance Audits: Conduct site inspections to ensure low-voltage contractors install conduit, backing, and cabling according to design specifications.
• RFI & Submittal Review: Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs), while evaluating proposed change orders to protect client budgets.
• Independent Acceptance Testing: Perform formal Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to verify audio tuning, video matrixing, control code logic, and network protocol standards (Dante, AV-over-IP, VLANs).
• Punch List Enforcement: Issue defect lists and verify resolution before authorizing final contractor payments.
• Documentation Verification: Audit final as-built drawings, source code repositories, IP schema sheets, warranties, and training deliverables.
