Job summary

Pro Cahaya Engineeering is seeking an experienced Control/Automation Engineer in Malaysia to manage end-to-end delivery of control systems from concept to qualification. You will design DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI/RTU programs, review switchboards and panels, and perform FAT/commissioning with customers.

The role requires a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, strong Siemens PCS7/TIA Portal experience, and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Extensive programming experience in Step 7 / TIA / PCS7 programming, preferably S7-1200 / S7-1500 / S7-400H - TIA Portal / PCS7.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document new control systems from concept to qualification.
• Design and develop DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI/RTU control programs for Process/Factory/Facilities automation (preferably Siemens).
• Design and review of low voltage electrical switchboard and control panels; perform FAT with customer.
• Perform site FAT, testing & commissioning with customer.
• Interface with vendors and contractors to troubleshoot start-up issues.
• Read and understand electrical drawings / P&IDs.
• Extend start-up support and training for control and monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, including signal checking, loop testing, and instrument issues.
• Work with other departments, sub-contractors and customers to provide technical support.
• Respond to downtime events impacting production.

In this role, you will be managing and ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of the Control System to agreed time, cost and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and document new control systems from concept to qualification.
• Design and develop DCS/PLC /SCADA / HMI / RTU control program for Process/Factory / Facilities automation. (preferably Siemens)
• Design and review of low voltage electrical switchboard, control panels; Perform Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with customer.
• Perform Site Acceptance Test, Testing & Commissioning with customer.
• Interface with equipment vendors and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve start-up issues.
• Read and understand electrical drawings / P&IDs
• Extend start up support and training for control and monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, including basic instrument signal checking, loop checking and identifying instrument-related issues.
• Work closely with other departments, sub-contractor; as well as interacting with customers to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving customer issues.
• Reply to downtime events impacting Production.

Key Requirements

• Tertiary education in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or relevant discipline
• Have extensive programming experience in Step 7 / TIA / PCS7 programming, preferably S7-1200 / S7-1500 / S7-400H - TIA Portal / PCS7
• Willing to travel to customer sites when required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers, vendors and internal teams
• At least one to two years' experience as a Control or Automation Engineer
• Experience to integrate to control system with other resource planning and management system.
