Job summary

Dematic Malaysia is seeking an Electrical/Mechatronics engineer to lead design, installation supervision, and commissioning of material handling systems. You will prepare/assist with functional specs, perform power calculations, and coordinate with clients and Dematic teams.

The role requires hands-on PLC development (TIA Portal, Ladder, SCL, STL), experience with EPLAN/AutoCAD, and oversight of installation crews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics is required.
• Experience in electrical drawings design using EPLAN or AutoCAD.
• Experience in electrical installation supervision is required.
• Experience in system design (power calcs, protection design, safety circuits).
• Experience interfacing materials handling systems with third party equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/assist with development of functional specifications.
• Prepare/assist with budget costing.
• Liaising with clients and Dematic personnel.
• Conformance to OHS&E standards in design and execution of all work.
• Preparation of schematic drawings, PLC programs and operator interfaces.
• Preparation of manufacturing and installation specifications.
• Planning and supervision of major controls installations.
• Manage procurement of parts, cabinet manufacture and electrical installation.
• Controls project cost control.
• Testing and commissioning.
• Preparation of test plans and operator/technical manuals.
• Training of client personnel.
• Provide customer support.
• Hand over to Customer service.

What We Are Looking For:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics
• Experience in electrical drawings design (EPLAN, EEC One, AutoCAD)
• Experience in electrical installation supervision
• Experience in system design (eg power calculation, circuit protection design, safety control circuit)
• Experience interfacing materials handling systems with third party equipment’s (eg. automatic tag readers, barcode scanners, weigh scales etc)
• Experience in PLC software development and office testing (TIA Portal, Ladder, SCL, STL)
• Experience in development of testing environments and conducting FATs
• Experience in management of installation crews
• Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs, variable speed drives and safety devices (Profinet, Profisafe, AS-I, TCP/IP, PN/PN, SEW Movitools, Movimot, Moviaxis.)
• Knowledge of materials handling system controls (WCS and PLC integration)
• Writing of technical documentation
