The role includes reviewing audit working papers and financial statements, resolving audit and accounting issues, managing deadlines, communicating directly with clients, and reporting significant matters to the Audit Partner.

You will also be responsible for leading and developing the audit team, including work allocation, reviewing staff performance, coaching Seniors and Associates, and ensuring engagements are completed efficiently and to the required professional standard.

A key part of the role is engagement management and compliance, including:

  • Pre-engagement and client acceptance/continuance procedures
  • Engagement review and monitoring of audit progress
  • Auditor appointment and engagement documentation
  • Checking financial statement approval, signing and completion requirements
  • Finalisation and proper dispatch of audited financial statements and audit reports
  • Monitoring statutory and engagement deadlines
  • Billing and collection follow-up
  • Ensuring engagement files are properly completed and closed
We would like to meet someone who has:
  • Solid external audit experience
  • Experience supervising and reviewing audit engagements
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, auditing standards and MPERS/MFRS
  • Good analytical skills and professional judgement
  • Confidence in communicating and dealing with clients
