Job summary

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive sales professional to drive OOG/breakbulk opportunities across key industries in Shah Alam. You will build relationships with freight forwarders, project logistics providers and direct shippers, while coordinating with operations and pricing teams for feasible, safe cargo handling.

The role requires a Bachelor's/Master's degree in logistics, maritime studies or related fields, with 3+ years in shipping/logistics sales.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in shipping/logistics sales, especially OOG/breakbulk, is required.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a self-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for OOG/breakbulk across key industries.
• Achieve sales targets and grow the project cargo business through freight forwarders and shippers.
• Collaborate with ops, pricing and technical teams to assess cargo feasibility and safe handling.
• Provide input on port capabilities, monitor market trends and develop sales strategies.
• Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts and performance analysis.
• Report directly to the Sales Manager.

Job description

Identify and pursue new business opportunities for OOG/Breakbulk cargo across key industries.

Achieve sales targets and contribute to business growth in the project cargo segment by building and maintaining strong relationships with freight forwarders, project logistics providers, and direct shippers.

Collaborate with operations, technical, and pricing teams to assess cargo feasibility and ensure safe stowage and transport including supporting cargo planning, lifting, lashing, and securing requirements for OOG/Breakbulk shipments.

Provide input on port capabilities and equipment availability for special cargo handling and monitor market trends and identify opportunities and threats.

Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis

Reports directly to Sales Manager

Job Requirement

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Logistic/Transportation, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Maritime Studies, Sales & Commerce or equivalent.

Candidate from shipping / logistics sales background will OOG and break-bulk is compulsory.

Candidate that are aggressive, independent, good team player and a self-starter, excellent communication & negotiation is needed for this role.

Candidate with a strong understanding of international trade regulations and shipping procedures is needed including the ability to analyze market trends and develop sales strategies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
