Job summary

Talent Recruit seeks an Operations Manager to lead the Sea Freight department in Shah Alam. You will oversee export/import activities, ensure daily operations run smoothly, and drive efficiency and cost control across the team.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in logistics operations, strong Sea Freight expertise, and excellent English communication. This is a hands-on role with exposure to customers, authorities, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 4 years as Operations Manager in logistics.
• Experience in sea freight.
• Excellent communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Head the Sea Freight Department and manage export/import teams.
• Ensure smooth operations, including workforce, leaves, holidays, and adherence to SOPs.
• Retain and maximize gross profit per job.
• Ensure data accuracy in shipment records (quantity, destination, sales codes).
• Develop and upgrade SOPs for new processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Cost control and continuous improvement recommendations.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders and internal teams.

Company Background:

We represent a leading global logistics provider who focuses on Express, Special Delivery, Air Freight and Sea Freight in Shah Alam. As they are expanding, they are looking for Operations Manager to join the team!

Job Scope:

• To head the Sea Freight Department, reporting to Country Manager, inclusive of Export, Import,declaration team, outside operations.
• Make sure department is running smoothly at all times. Meaning manage workforce inclusive of leavesand holidays, but also in terms of process, SOP, job segregation, etc
  
• Retain and maximized gross profit per job
• Ensure data accuracy in our system related to shipment such as quantity, destination, salesmen code etc
• Become tech savvy with all tools used in the department
• Ensure high quality of service of the sea freight department
• Pro-actively manage & build repo with external stakeholders: customers, government authorities, Portauthorities, customers, vendors, etc
  Pro-actively handle & build repo internally: Sales Support, finance, sales, other stations, management.
• To generate new SOP to cater for new processes, continuously upgrade current SOPs to enhance operatingefficiency, and reduce cost and achieving KPI.
• To manage and control cost. Bring suggestions for improvementwhenever possible.
• Adheres to all corporate policy, guidelines and statutory requirements, adopt these changes, andincorporate into the teams.

Job Requirements:

• At least a Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in any relevant field.
• At least 4 years of working experience as Operations Manager in Logistic field.
• Experience in Sea Freight.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
