Job summary

Southern Pipe Industry (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Perai, Penang is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead sourcing, supplier management, and strategic purchasing.

You will monitor market trends, negotiate contracts, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while collaborating with Production Planning to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all procurement activities: sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, supplier management.
• Monitor market trends, material availability, and price fluctuations for strategic sourcing.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements for best value.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality and delivery.
• Analyze purchasing trends and expenditures to identify savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with Production Planning, Plant, Warehouse, and related departments to ensure material supply.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, ISO standards, legal requirements, and ethical practices.
• Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier dependency and market disruptions.
• Carry out other duties as directed by Company Management.

• To carry out any other duties as directed by the Company Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
