Job summary

Pentamaster Corporation Berhad is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to join our Penang team. This full-time role oversees supplier performance, implements QA protocols, and partners with vendors to ensure materials meet our stringent requirements and support our manufacturing operations.

You will lead supplier audits, CAPA, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborate with procurement, operations and engineering, and mentor teams to sustain certifications such as ISO 9001 and IATF

Qualifications

• Experience in supplier quality management within manufacturing or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and related standards.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and driving improvements.
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to collaborate with procurement, operations and engineering teams.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline.

About the role

Pentamaster Corporation Berhad is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to join our dynamic team in Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our supply chain. As Supplier Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing supplier performance, implementing quality assurance protocols, and maintaining strong partnerships with our vendors to ensure that all materials and components meet our stringent quality requirements. This role is essential to the success of our manufacturing operations and directly contributes to the delivery of excellence to our customers.

Develop, implement and maintain supplier quality management systems and procedures aligned with industry standards and company requirements

Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality, regulatory and contractual specifications

Monitor supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery, defect rates and adherence to quality standards, and take corrective action when necessary

Collaborate with procurement, operations and engineering teams to establish quality expectations and specifications with new and existing suppliers

Investigate and resolve quality issues originating from suppliers, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Manage incoming inspection processes and coordinate with suppliers to address non-conforming materials and components

Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, records and reports for supplier performance and audit trails

Communicate regularly with suppliers to provide feedback, drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster strong working relationships

Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, certifications and regulatory requirements across the supply chain

Support the development of supplier scorecards and quality metrics to track and improve supplier performance over time

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement supplier quality assurance strategies and programmes aligned with company objectives and industry standards

Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality requirements and contractual obligations

Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) including on-time delivery, defect rates, and quality certifications

Establish and maintain quality standards documentation, specifications, and inspection criteria for incoming materials and components

Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and manage supplier improvement plans

Investigate quality failures and non-conformances, determining root causes and driving resolution with suppliers

Maintain comprehensive supplier quality records and prepare performance reports for management review

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, facilitating regular communication and continuous improvement discussions

Ensure suppliers maintain appropriate certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, etc.) and regulatory compliance

Provide technical support and quality guidance to suppliers to enhance their capabilities and processes

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline

Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality management or quality assurance within a manufacturing or logistics environment

Strong knowledge of quality management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other relevant quality standards

Proven experience conducting supplier audits and implementing quality improvement programmes

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex quality issues and implement effective solutions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Proficiency in quality management tools and statistical analysis methods such as SPC, FMEA and root cause analysis techniques

Experience with quality management software and data management systems

Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining comprehensive documentation and records

Preferred: Experience in the electronics, precision manufacturing or automotive sectors

Preferred: Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies
