Job summary

Hatten Group Sdn. Bhd. in Malacca is seeking a dedicated preschool educator to assist the homeroom teacher and guide children in vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading and writing across languages.

You will help implement engaging learning activities that promote social, physical and intellectual growth. The role requires 2–3 years' experience with preschool children, fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and a willingness to base in Malacca.

Qualifications

• At least a Diploma in Early Childhood / KAP Certified.
• Minimum 2–3 years working experience in preschool or with children.
• Well-versed in handling infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

• Assist preschool homeroom teacher and guide students in vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading and writing in various languages.
• Undertake appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning.
• Maintain good, confidential communication with colleagues about children and school matters.
• Support curriculum planning with Principal and Senior Teachers.
• Take responsibility for children's displays and during class activities.
• Ensure children are clean, well-groomed and supervised during arrival and pickup.

Job description

To prepare young children for school by easing them into organized education. Responsible in guiding children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth needed for the future. Be a facilitator in the classroom and take an interactive role with children. Encourage children to take pride in their own environment and show respect and concern for others, to the benefit of the school as a caring community.

Responsibilities:

To assist preschool homeroom teacher and guide students in the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading and writing in various languages.

Undertake appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning is taking place all the time.

Maintain good and professional communication with colleagues concerning the children, amongst colleagues and the school, treating all information with confidentiality.

a) Seek assistance when needed.

b) Be open to suggestions among colleagues.

Responsible and care for all equipment with resources well-labelled and accessible.

a) The inventory needs to be updated with Admin when the above is taken or returned.

b) Items to be kept in their identified areas.

Assist to maintain a clean, tidy and well-organized classroom with resourceful learning corner, creating a lively classroom which promotes independent learning.

Build positive relationships with parents of children in your care.

a) Update on their development and progress.

b) Share on the child's health, characters, manners and habits (do notify the Principal if incorrect habits are being developed).

Collaborate with the Principal and Senior Teachers in curriculum planning.

Take responsibility of the children's display in class and throughout the school (monthly basis).

Support the children in your care to be engaged during the learning in class.

a) Encourage them to participate in group activities and projects.

b) If a child is yet to be ready, spend 1 to 1 time with the child to build his or her socialization skills.

Responsible to see that the child is clean and well-groomed before handing them over to their parents.

During pick-up or when the child arrives in your class, teachers are to look at their physical appearance. Record in the Log Book daily (this applies to all who does pick up in the mornings).

Be responsible to accompany the child to the toilet, change diaper, potty training and bathing/wipe down (when required).

Job Requirements:

At least a Diploma in Early Childhood / KAP Certified.

Minimum with 2 to 3 years ' working experience in preschool or with children.

Well verse in handling infants and toddlers.

Aged below 40.

Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin will be added advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Good interpersonal skills.

Outstation candidate must be wiling to be based in Malacca.
