Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop warm, nurturing relationships with children in the class.
• Support the class teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities.
• Monitor and support individual children as needed.
• Maintain classroom routines and supervise playtime and transitions.
• Contribute to school events, displays and resource preparation.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and uphold school standards.

Desired Qualifications : Preferably possess a Diploma in Early Years Education

Desired Experience : Minimum one year working experience in an young children setting.

Core Knowledge Required :

Understanding of how a classroom is to be run smoothly.

Ability to coordinate well with the teacher for teaching and learning.

Observant to the needs of the children and are able to identify and support them appropriately

Language(s) Required : Able to communicate in English. Knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin an advantage

Communication

Develop a warm and nurturing relationship with the children in your class.

Always speak positively about a child. Talk to and listen to children appropriately.

Maintains open communication between yourself and the classroom teacher and between other school personnel.

Be well informed about the daily class timetable and schedule before the beginning of the school day, check the class teacher’s daily planner each morning to become familiar with the day’s plans and specific expectations.

Students

Support the class teacher in delivering of daily lessons to the children

One‑on‑one support with individual child when the need arises.

Monitor and supervise children to set routine

Manage and regulate student’s behaviours

Manages and interacts with children in a positive and supportive manner.

General

Attends weekly staff meetings.

Assists during arrival and dismissal hours

Undertake playground supervision as per the duty roster, ensuring expectations are being consistently reinforced.

Support school events such as carnivals, educational field trips or open day

Support teachers in changing displays, organizing the classroom and preparing teaching resources for children’s learning

Professional Development

Participates in staff development programs.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or class teacher.

Maintains appropriate dress, demeanour, good hygiene and positive work ethics as defined by school standards.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with school policy by the designated supervisor.

Any other task or project as assigned by the Management / Principal from time to time.
