Job description
Our Client:

We are partnering with a Malaysian corporation that specializes in manufacturing of precision components. The company is expanding their Malaysia operations and looking for a Assistant Planning Manager as part of their strategic growth.

Responsibility:
  • Oversee and validate weekly customer commitment plans to ensure 100% On-Time Delivery (OTD) according to global service-level agreements.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal Days of Inventory (DOI) levels within regional distribution hubs; ensure fulfillment cycles are met to prevent stock-outs or excess capital tie-up.
  • Drive the integrated MPS for both internal manufacturing and raw material procurement to synchronize capacity with demand volatility.
  • Manage the workflow and inventory accuracy between internal production and Outside Service Processing (OSP) partners, ensuring physical stock aligns perfectly with ERP data (Oracle-based).
  • Lead the delivery and pulling strategies for raw components from overseas subsidiaries; ensure "Right Part, Right Quantity, Right Time" to prevent supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Perform rigorous weekly reviews of aging WIP (Work in Progress) and Finished Goods (FG). Lead mitigation strategies for End-of-Life (EOL) parts to minimize financial exposure.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for demand inquiries. Analyze "Forecast vs. Actual" variances and proactively alert stakeholders (Sales/Customer) regarding demand abnormalities.
  • Oversee Return-to-Vendor (RTV) and RMA activities; ensure all secondary processing (finishing/treatment) inventory is accurately recorded and stored.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of PMC Executives and Production Controllers to ensure daily operational excellence and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years in Production Planning / Material Control (PMC), preferably within the high-precision mechanical components or hardware manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or Assistant Managerial role, managing a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (preference for Oracle) and Master Production Scheduling (MPS) logic. High proficiency in MS Excel (Data analytics, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Familiarity with OSP (Outside Service Processing), inventory aging controls, and secondary industrial processes (e.g., surface treatments or finishing).
  • Strong command of English; ability to manage expectations with international internal/external stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical, proactive in problem-solving, and able to work under tight deadlines with high accuracy.
