Job summary

Koon Seng Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced production planning professional to steer mid-to-long term strategies balancing demand, capacity, quality, output and inventory targets at the plant. The role requires leading cross-functional meetings and coordinating with Maintenance, Procurement, Quality and Engineering to synchronize production, material flow and equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any related field.
• 3–5 years as an Assistant Manager or similar, overseeing multiple teams.
• Master's degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
• Experience in gloves industries is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Formulate middle-to-long-term production strategies balancing demand forecasts, capacity constraints, quality, output and inventory targets at the plant.
• Conduct daily, weekly, or monthly production meetings to align with business objectives and delivery commitments.
• Lead cross-functional coordination with Maintenance, Procurement / Purchasing, Quality and Engineering to synchronize production, material flow and equipment availability.
• Oversee production process / product and former changeover strategies, optimizing resource allocation and downtime management across lines.
• Define production downtime precisely and monitor KPIs, analyze trends to identify risks and opportunities for cost reduction and IR 4.0 improvement.
• Establish policies for manpower forecasting, deployment and skill development to ensure operational readiness.
• Handle production quality, output and downtime to meet targets and improvements.
• Review training frameworks, manuals and SOPs for production planning and execution, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
• Monitor and handle projects, new product development or standardization; analyze data and outcomes.
• Prepare comprehensive data collection, analysis and reports for management presentation.

Conduct daily, weekly, or monthly production meetings to ensure alignment with business objectives and delivery commitments

Lead cross-functional coordination with Maintenance, Procurement / Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering to synchronize production, material flow, and equipment availability

Oversee production process / product and former changeover strategies (including sorting, top-up and storage), optimizing resource allocation and downtime management across lines

Precisely define production downtime and monitor production of KPIs, analyzing performance trends to identify risks, bottlenecks, opportunities for cost reduction and improvement toward IR 4.0 industries

Establish policies and frameworks for manpower forecasting, deployment, and skill development to ensure operational readiness

Handle and manage the production quality, output and downtime to follow target and improvement

Review and approve training frameworks, manuals, and SOPs for production planning and execution, ensuring alignment with compliance and audit standards

Monitor and handle projects, new product development or standardization, analyze data and outcomes

Prepare comprehensive data collection, analysis and report to be present to management

About you

Bachelor's Degree in any related field

Minimum 3 to 5 years as an Assistant Manager role (preferable overseeing multiple teams and functions)

Master's degree or professional certification is an added advantage

Experience in gloves industries and former management is an added advantage
