Job summary

Phongsavanh Group (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an Assistant Manager to drive process improvement and automation initiatives across banking and aviation operations. This hands-on role requires independent work, tight deadlines, and frequent on-site reviews at branches, including overseas locations.

You will review SOPs, perform root-cause analyses, and develop practical automation or redesign recommendations, supported by cost-benefit analyses and regular status reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Banking & Finance, Industrial Eng, Aviation or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in banking/aviation operations, BPI, or business analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and process-mapping abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office; Visio or Lucidchart experience is a plus.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Willing to travel overseas for extended periods.
• Valid passport with no restrictions on international travel.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management and deadline discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Review existing processes/SOPs to identify improvements and automation potential.
• Perform root-cause analyses and develop actionable automation or redesign recommendations.
• Prepare clearly documented findings with cost-benefit/ROI analyses.
• Conduct on-site reviews with process owners and branch staff to validate practices.
• Manage workload independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Escalate risks or delays and track progress against the plan.
• Collaborate with operations, IT, and compliance to assess feasibility.
• Support rollout and change management of approved improvements.
• Travel to branch locations, including overseas, as required.
• Ensure project milestones are met and report to management regularly.
