The role is responsible for managing month-end and year-end closing activities, financial reconciliations, reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, process improvements, and providing guidance to the finance team.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Finance – General Ledger to oversee the General Ledger function and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The role is responsible for managing month-end and year-end closing activities, financial reconciliations, reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, process improvements, and providing guidance to the finance team.
Lead and manage the General Ledger function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions across multiple business units and entities.
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations.
Review and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
Prepare and review monthly financial reports, management accounts, and variance analysis for senior management.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, including analysis of actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, company policies, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with internal departments, auditors, tax teams, and other stakeholders on financial and accounting matters.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency through process enhancement and automation.
Support finance system improvements, data migration, and implementation of new processes or entities.
Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in General Ledger, financial reporting, and FP&A will be an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of month-end closing, financial reporting, account reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience in ERP/accounting systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple entities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
