Job summary

UOA Hospitality in Kuala Lumpur seeks an IT Support Officer to configure, install and maintain the hotel’s computer, network and peripheral equipment, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and high uptime.

You will troubleshoot hardware/software issues, support guests and staff, manage backups, VLAN/WiFi, email systems, PABX, and assist in budgeting and inventories under the VP of Finance.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English & Mandarin.
• Thorough working knowledge of UOAH policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Configure and install computer, peripheral and network equipment in accordance with established hotel guidelines.
• Troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems, resolve in timely and acceptable manner.
• Perform backup according to designated schedule; make backup tapes and perform recovery.
• Provide technical support to all internal and external guests in the use of computer systems, printers, software and IT equipment in timely manner.
• Troubleshoots computer and printer problems and coordinates with Senior IT Manager / VP of Finance to get outside support if necessary.
• Maintain VLAN and WIFI services and ensure minimum downtime.
• Check on all the Komunecare & KTCM system daily; ensure all systems running at all times.
• Perform monthly preventive maintenance for all computers, Switches, AP, Telephone, servers and related IT equipment.
• Maintain PABX system including telephone line number updates and housekeeping.
• Maintain E-mail system including updating the contacts, backups and maintaining the server.
• Assist in sending out E-mail blasts when needed.
• Assist, along with Finance, with annual IT budget and inventories.
• Ensure adherence to IT SOP and support users in daily IT system usage.
• Participate in projects assigned by the Senior IT Manager and ensure uninterrupted client internet access.
