Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital in Ipoh is seeking a competent admissions and cashier support staff to manage inpatient, outpatient and newborn registrations. You will assist in billing, deposits, and patient inquiries, ensuring smooth admission processes and accurate census reporting.

The role requires attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to work closely with ward staff to ensure patient rights are explained and respected.

Qualifications

• Experience with hospital registration and billing processes.
• Ability to assist patients and relatives.
• Familiar with ward census and bed census reporting.
• Proficient in cash handling and receipt reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatient, outpatient, daycare and newborn admissions into HITS/KCIS.
• Record patient particulars into registration admission book.
• Accompany patients/relatives to the ward concerned.
• Screen and process patient guarantee letters, deposits and payments.
• Print interim bills and top up deposits with patients/relatives.
• Clear cash collected at main cashier with receipts.
• Attend to patient/relative enquiries and provide information on rights.
• Assist in administration of the unit in the absence of the Accountant/Operations Manager.

Job description

• Register inpatient, outpatient, daycare and newborn admission into HITS/KCIS.
• Record patient particulars into registration admission book.
• Accompany patient/relatives to the ward concerned.
• Screen patient guarantee letter, if any.
• Collect deposit upon admission and also part payment from payment/relative, if any.
• Print cycle bill (interim bill) and visit patient/relatives for topping up deposit
• Clear cash collected at main cashier together with receipt listing.
• Attend to patient/relative enquiry.
• Relief cashier and MCO, if any
• Generate ward census for reference and compilation of occupancy rate.
• Generate daily bed census.
• Estimate bill for discharges (after officer hours)
• To promote, support and ensure patient understanding of Patient and Family Rights.
• Carries out duties and responsibilities of the Accountant /Operation Manager in his absenceas directed.
• Assists the Accountant/Operation Manager in the administration of the unit when needed.
