Job summary

Cohu Malaysia is seeking an Accountant to support financial reporting and accounting operations. You will help ensure timely and accurate financial data entries, and assist with month-end close and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, audits, tax, and cross-training for regional accounting activities in Thailand and Japan as assigned. A collaborative, growth-oriented environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Accounting with 2 years work experience in bookkeeping.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Pleasant personality with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP/Oracle.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, amortization, payroll, and other month-end adjustments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Cross-train and provide backup support for regional accounting responsibilities (Thailand and Japan).
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Assist with statutory audit, tax, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Liaise with auditors and authorities.
• Any other ad-hoc assignments.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to support financial reporting and accounting operations. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory, statutory, and group requirements, while maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial data entries. Responsible for the timely completion and submission of reports, resolving accounting issues, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective and preventive measures to strengthen financial controls and drive continuous process improvement.

Impact You Will Make:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, amortization, payroll ,and other month-end adjustments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Cross-train and provide backup support for regional accounting responsibilities, including Thailand and Japan accounting activities as assigned.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Accounting with 2 years work experience in book keeping practice. .
• Able to work under pressure environment and adhere to tight dateline reporting.
• Pleasant personality, good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ERP system, such as SAP/Oracle.
• Good Microsoft excel skill.
