Job summary

Cohu Malaysia seeks a Technical Support Engineer to diagnose, resolve, and prevent issues across our test systems, with emphasis on Linux environments to support our installed base and global partners.

You will work with engineering to resolve escalations, assist in system integration and software updates, analyze logs, and build knowledge bases. Remote and occasional onsite service will be provided to customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in CS/EE/SWE or equivalent.
• 2+ years in technical support, sys admin, or software eng in Linux.
• Proficiency with Linux CLI, scripting, and monitoring.
• Experience with ATE or semiconductor test systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with networking, remote debugging, and software deployment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for ATE software and hardware.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot OS, drivers, middleware, and test programs.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve escalated issues.
• Support system integration, configuration, and software updates.
• Analyze system logs, crash dumps, and error reports.
• Develop and maintain knowledge base, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
• Provide remote and occasional onsite support to global customers and partners.
• Participate in NPI by supporting validation, software installation, and customer acceptance.

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, resolving, and preventing technical issues related to our test systems, ensuring maximum uptime and customer satisfaction

Impact You Will Make

Providetechnical supportfor Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) software and hardware, with a focus on Linux-based environments for our existing Installed base of customers.

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in operating systems, drivers, middleware, and test program execution.

Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve escalated technical issues and provide feedback for product improvements.

Support system integration, configuration, and software updates for customer deployments.

Assist inanalyzing system logs, crash dumps, and error reports.

Develop and maintainknowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and training materialfor internal teams and customers.

Provideremote and occasional onsite supportto global customers and manufacturing partners.

Participate innew product introduction (NPI)by supporting validation, software installation, and customer acceptance.

Our Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s or Associates degree inComputer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

2+ years of experience intechnical support, system administration, or software engineeringin a Linux environment.

Proficiency withLinux command line tools, scripting (Bash, Python, or similar), and system monitoring.

Strong troubleshooting skills insoftware/hardware interactions.

Familiarity withautomatic test equipment (ATE), semiconductor test systems, or similar complex instrumentation.

Experience withnetworking concepts, remote debugging, and software deployment.

Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both engineers and non-technical users.

Experience withC/C++ or Pythonin a test environment.

Knowledge oftest methodologies, data acquisition systems, or device drivers.

Prior customer-facing technical support experience in asemiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or test equipment industry.

Understanding ofreliability, uptime, and performance requirementsin manufacturing environments. Linux Operating System
