Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a meticulous FP&A Analyst to join our Operations Excellence team in Melaka. You will drive automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to modernize planning and reporting across multiple business units.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in FP&A or controlling, strong Excel and ERP experience, and excellent English communication. Expect cross-functional collaboration in an international setting with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A/controlling or similar finance role in industrial/manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience working with ERP and finance reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
• Very good communication and stakeholder management skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare revenue and margin updates for plan, quarterly forecast, and month-end actuals; consolidate inputs across Business Units.
• Maintain and improve revenue databases; ensure data quality and reconciliation with source systems.
• Partner with Sales/Operations/BUs to validate assumptions and analyze variances.
• Support R&D controlling, including monthly reporting and variance analysis.
• Support R&D closing activities in the ERP system.
• Assist on project module in the ERP system.
• Maintain fixed asset reporting and forecast analyses.
• Maintain FTE reporting for actuals and forecast.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve reporting, standardization, and automation.
• Support consistent and auditable planning/reporting processes in an international environment

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst to join our Operations Excellence team in Melaka. This position supports cross-functional operations improvement initiatives across multiple business areas, with an initial focus on high-impact operational processes. The role will primarily drive automation, digitalization, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to transform manual, fragmented, and error-prone workflows into efficient, scalable, data-driven systems. Over time, the scope will expand to support broader operational excellence initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and business performance.

Impact You Will Make:

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis/controlling or a similar finance role, ideally in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience working with ERP and finance reporting and planning tools.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
• Very good communication and stakeholder management skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment; strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in an international environment; some travel may be required; strong internal customer focus.
