Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to ensure product and process quality through validation, inspection, data analysis and cross‑functional collaboration for manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands‑on quality expertise in ISO 9001:2015 and IATF16949 with strong data analysis skills. Based in Melaka, Malaysia, you will work in a dynamic, multicultural environment and engage with suppliers and customers regularly.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in quality field.
• Hands-on quality role with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF16949 knowledge.
• Proficient in data analysis and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality discussions for customer issues.
• Coordinate methods and metrics for process, product and service delivery.
• Analyze process data for changes, trends and developing issues.
• Produce quality reports for management and provide coordination for issues.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure timely reporting of quality performance.
• Drive 8D issues through to closure.
• Perform product validation, quality audits and supplier/customer meetings.
• Protect customer intellectual property.

We are looking for a Customer Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the to ensuring product and process quality through validation, inspection, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration to support manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction.

Impact You Will Make

Leading in quality discussion within internal team for customer issues.

Coordinating methods and metrics for process, product and service delivery.

Analyze and review process data for changes, trends, developing issues, process control & capabilities.

To produce quality reports for management and provide coordination task delegation for customer and internal issues.

Liaise with other functional group regularly to collate information, ensure accurate & timely reporting of production, field & customer quality performance.

Drive quality incidents through 8D methodology until closure.

Other task includes perform product validation, quality audit, meeting with supplier and/ or customer, establish/ updated internal documents, proactive communication with management and cross-functional colleagues.

Protect all the intellectual property of customer.

Any other ad-hoc assignments according to business needs.

Our Ideal Candidate

Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent skills with minimum 5 years' experience in quality field.

Hands‑on quality related in ISO 9001:2015, ISO/TS 16949 (IATF 16949), FMEA, SPC, Control Plan, 8D, 3x5 Why Analysis & QC 7 Tools.

Quality coordination and engagement skills with customer and internal team.

Able to manage high amount of data in a fast pace working environment.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Fluent in written & spoken English, strong interpersonal skills to deal with all levels in the multicultural and multidiscipline organization, computer literate in MS Office.
