Job summary

Scimmtrol Semiconductor Technology (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Assembly Engineer to lead the build and integration of large-scale semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom. You will plan the three major sections, coordinate global supplier equipment, and perform comprehensive tests at multiple stages.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in equipment assembly or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience with machine assembly, integration and testing.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and ability to read drawings/schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills; English and Mandarin a plus.

• Train and provide technical guidance to assembly technicians.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production and Warehouse to meet schedules and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, document and continuously improve assembly procedures, work instructions and process flows for semiconductor equipment.
• Plan and guide the assembly of the machine's three major sections and their integration into one complete unit.
• Coordinate the installation and positioning of equipment and components sourced from international suppliers.
• Conduct and support power-on, motion and software functionality tests at both the section and complete-machine stages.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and software issues during assembly and testing, and drive root-cause corrective actions.
• Ensure cleanroom protocols, ESD control and safety standards are followed throughout the assembly process.
• Train and provide technical guidance to assembly technicians.
• Work closely with Quality, Production and Warehouse teams to meet project schedules and quality targets.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in equipment assembly or process engineering, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Hands-on experience with machine assembly, integration and functional testing (electrical, motion and software).
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills; proficiency in English and Mandarin is an added advantage.
