Scimmtrol Semiconductor Technology (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia (Penang, Simpang Ampat) is seeking a skilled mechanical assembler to read drawings, assemble and install mechanical components, perform alignment and troubleshooting, and conduct inspections to meet quality standards.
Responsibilities include following SOPs, maintaining clean work areas, recording production data, and supporting on-site installation and service when required. Fresh graduates are welcome; 1–3 years experience preferred.
Perform mechanical assembly and installation of semiconductor equipment, machines, modules, and components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
Key responsibilities
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and basic technical documents
Assemble, install, align, and adjust mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Conduct basic mechanical fitting, adjustment, alignment, and troubleshooting during the assembly process
Perform inspection and functional checks to ensure assembled equipment meets required quality and performance standards
Identify assembly defects, dimensional issues, or equipment abnormalities and report them to the supervisor or engineer
Follow standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions, safety requirements, and cleanroom/ESD requirements where applicable
Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organized
Record assembly, inspection, testing, and production information accurately
Support equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and on-site service activities when required
Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other departments to resolve assembly and technical issues
About you
Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related field
Preferably 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, equipment assembly, machinery, or semiconductor industry
Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and assembly drawings
Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments
Basic knowledge of mechanical fitting, alignment, and troubleshooting
Willing to work overtime and travel for installation/service when required
Good teamwork, discipline, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
Fresh graduates with relevant technical background are encouraged to apply
