Job summary

GRAND VENTURE TECHNOLOGY (JOHOR) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Assembly Engineer to design efficient assembly processes, improve production efficiency and uphold stringent quality standards.

The role reports to the Assembly Manager and collaborates with design, production and quality teams to ensure seamless product integration. Ideal candidates will have 1–4 years in assembly of equipment or test areas, with experience in quality maintenance, BOMs and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics required.
• 1-4 years of relevant Assembly experience, preferably in semiconductor equipment or test areas.
• Experience in maintaining quality of work.
• Knowledge of Material BOMs.
• Ability to read engineering drawings for mechatronics-assembly.
• Proficiency with manufacturing tools (5S, Process Flow, FMEA, System Risk Analysis, DMAIC, 8D, Control Plan, SOP, SOO, Work Instructions, RCA).
• Experience in mechanical fitting, cable routing and equipment installation; semiconductor equipment background preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for simple fixtures/jigs.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assembly Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Assembly Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective assembly of products. This role involves designing assembly processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring that all products meet our quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

Process Design: Develop and implement assembly processes for new products, ensuring they are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality requirements.

Continuous Improvement: Analyze current assembly processes and identify areas for improvement to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all assembled products meet the company's quality standards through rigorous testing and inspection procedures.

Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of assembly equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the assembly process.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of assembly processes, including work instructions, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Training: Provide training and support to assembly line workers to ensure they understand and adhere to established processes and procedures.

Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise during the assembly process to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules.

Compliance: Ensure all assembly activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Degree / Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics

1-4 years of relevant experience preferably in Assembly of Equipment or Test area preferably in Semiconductor Industry

Experience in maintaining the Quality of Work

Knowledge of Material BOM’s

Capable of understanding Engineering drawings for Mechatronics-assembly

Experienced in Manufacturing Engineering Tools (5S, Process Flow, FMEA, System Risk Analysis, DMAIC, 8D, Control Plan, SOP, SOO, Work Instructions, Root Cause Analysis, Capacity versus Demand)

Experience in Mechanical Fitting, Cable Routing and Installation of Equipment. Preferably in a Semiconductor Equipment Industry.

Able to use Solid works to design simple fixtures / jigs
