Talent Recruit represents a world-known company with a global footprint that provides semiconductor-based power electronic solutions. This Assembly Staff Engineer role is based at their Ipoh, Perak vendor.

You will drive assembly quality, monitor yield and SPC, coordinate with FA engineers and suppliers, and report to the Assembly Manager in China. English and Mandarin fluency is required, with 5–10 years of hands-on assembly experience in the semiconductor industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with assembly processes and QA controls (8D CAR, FMEA, SPC).
• Knowledge of FA and reliability concepts.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin for reporting to Assembly Manager in China.
• 5–10 years hands-on assembly experience, preferably from an MNC semiconductor environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle assembly quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Audit and quarterly performance rating; discuss issues with suppliers for improvement.
• Monitor assembly yield, defect modes, and SPC; manage WIP and ensure on-time delivery.
• Perform risk assessment and disposition for wafer issues at supplier and on-test-floor assembly issues.
• Generate supplier quality reports and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with FA engineers to identify failures and implement root-cause actions with assemblers.
• Coordinate qualification of new suppliers, materials, packages, and processes.

We are representing world-known company with a global footprint that provides high-performance, semiconductor-based power electronic solutions. As they continue to expand, they are seeking for Assembly Staff Engineer to be based at their vendor which is in Ipoh, Perak.

Position Title

Assembly Staff Engineer (New Position)

Working hours

Monday to Friday (8.00am to 5.45pm)

Salary

up to RM14,000

Responsibilities

• Handle assembly quality issue, verify the root cause and make sure the corrective actions can be implemented effectively and timely to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct regular audit and have the quarterly performance rating, discuss quality/technical issues with suppliers to support them on continuous improvement and provide reliable product.
• Weekly monitor and analyze the assembly yield, defect mode, SPC to assure ongoing quality system capability, and daily check the assembly WIP to ensure the short assembly cycle time and on time delivery.
• Conduct the risk assessment and have the disposition for wafer incoming issue at supplier and on hold lot with assembly issue at test floor.
• Generate and evaluate supplier quality reports, establish appropriate baseline, determine continuous improvement opportunities
• Coordinates with FA engineers to identify the assembly failures, addresses the root cause and get the corrective actions with assemblers.
• Coordinates the qualification of new supplier, materials, package, assembly processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree, majoring in Engineering or related discipline
• Familiar with general assembly processes and QA controls (8D CAR, FMEA, SPC, etc)
• Knowledge of basic concepts of FA and reliability.
• Fluent English and Mandarin (due to business needs as this position have to report to Assembly Manager in China)
• 5 10 years experience hands on experience in assembly process, Prefer candidates from MNC semiconductor industry
