Job summary

STMicroelectronics Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an Assembly Operational Excellence Lead / Staff Engineer to drive improvement projects and standardize maintenance practices within the assembly environment. You will collaborate with R&D, equipment vendors, and the global technical community to design improvements and ensure robust documentation and problem resolution.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and a deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering fields related to equipment automation or robotics.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in assembly (ASSY) processes and manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading and coaching engineers and technicians; strong project management skills.
• Solid understanding of semiconductor processes, process control, and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Represent the plant as a member of the ST Global Technical Community.
• Lead the execution of improvement projects and action plans with the technical community.
• Support standardization of maintenance activities and related technical practices.
• Collaborate with Assembly team on BEMT Future Inside projects and with R&D and vendors on machine design.
• Review and evaluate machine hardware and system design and ensure upload to the ST document control system.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Be willing to learn and develop multi-skill capabilities.
• Quickly learn new technical issues and support problem resolution.
• Support new product qualification activities and equipment-related initiatives.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support in production.
