Job summary

STMicroelectronics Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead assembly line maintenance in Back-End Manufacturing. You will drive preventive and predictive programs, troubleshoot complex equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to sustain high uptime.

The role demands 5–8 years in maintenance engineering, a strong grasp of PLCs, robotics, CMMS, and a proven leadership mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years in maintenance engineering, preferably in semiconductor or electronics assembly operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation systems.
• Experience with PLC programming and control systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Safety and EHS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage maintenance activities for assembly line equipment and machinery in the Back-End Manufacturing (BEM) assembly process.
• Ensure high equipment availability, reliability, and performance to meet production targets.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues on assembly lines.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve process efficiency.
• Manage maintenance team activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure safety compliance.
• Analyze equipment failure data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Plan and oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment or upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, reports, and compliance with company standards.
• Lead cost saving projects to achieve annual savings.
