Job summary

SK8 Engineering in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Assembly Planning Supervisor to coordinate daily production activities and ensure availability of materials, parts and manpower to meet schedules.

You will lead assembly staff, monitor progress, ensure conformance to drawings and BOM, drive 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce delays.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• 2–5 years in assembly or manufacturing.
• Experience with genset, machinery, or enclosure assembly is a plus.
• Understanding of assembly processes and material flow.
• Ability to plan and monitor long lead-time standard parts.
• Basic leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOM, and work orders.
• Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills, especially Excel and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily assembly activities based on production schedules and work orders.
• Ensure materials, standard parts, bought-out items, tools, and manpower are available before production starts.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Logistics to monitor long lead time items and prevent delays.
• Monitor assembly progress and take actions to meet production targets.
• Ensure assembly work complies with drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support in-process inspections and resolve assembly-related non-conformities.
• Ensure CAPA is implemented for quality issues.
• Supervise daily assignments of assembly personnel.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and basic training to assembly staff.
• Adhere to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S housekeeping.
• Prepare and update daily production and material status reports.
• Maintain assembly checklists, inspection records, and production documentation.
• Liaise with Engineering, QA/QC, Maintenance, and Purchasing to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce delays.

• Plan and coordinate daily assembly activities based on production schedules and work orders.

2. Quality Control

• Ensure assembly work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support in-process inspections and resolve assembly-related non-conformities.
• Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented for quality issues.

3. Manpower Management

• Supervise daily work assignments of assembly personnel.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and work performance.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and basic training to assembly staff.

4. Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe working practices.
• Maintain good housekeeping (5S) within the assembly area.
• Report and assist in the investigation of safety incidents.
• Prepare and update daily production reports, assembly progress reports, and material status records.
• Maintain assembly checklists, inspection records, and production documentation.
• Liaise with Engineering, QA/QC, Maintenance, and Purchasing teams to resolve technical or material issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve assembly efficiency and reduce production delays.
