Job summary

SK 8 ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking an Assembly Coordination and Production Planning professional to plan and coordinate daily assembly activities, ensure material readiness and monitor progress against schedules.

You will supervise assembly technicians, enforce quality and safety, and collaborate with purchasing to track long lead items. A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 2–5 years of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings, BOMs and work orders.
• Strong planning, coordination and communication skills.
• Basic Excel skills and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily assembly activities based on production schedules and work orders.
• Ensure preparation activities are completed, including long lead time parts planning.
• Coordinate with purchasing and stores to raise purchase requisitions and track long lead time items.
• Verify material readiness before assembly starts.
• Allocate manpower, tools, and materials to lines.
• Monitor progress and take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Supervise assembly technicians and assign tasks.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Enforce safety rules and PPE usage.
• Update daily production and assembly progress reports.

This is an assembly coordination and production planning role in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily assembly activities, ensuring material readiness, supervising assembly technicians, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily assembly activities based on production schedules and work orders

Ensure preparation activities are completed in advance, including identification, planning, and follow-up of long lead time standard parts

Coordinate with purchasing and stores to raise purchase requisitions and track procurement status for long lead time items

Verify material readiness (standard parts, bought-out items, kits) before assembly start

Allocate manpower, tools, and materials to assembly lines effectively

Monitor production progress and take corrective actions to meet targets

Supervise assembly technicians and ensure proper task assignment

Ensure assembly work complies with drawings, specifications, and work instructions

Enforce safety rules, PPE usage, and safe work practices

Update daily production and assembly progress reports

About you

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or any related field

Minimum 2-5 years experience in assembly or manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of assembly processes and material flow

Ability to plan and track long lead time standard parts

Basic leadership and people management skills

Able to read and interpret drawings, BOMs and work order

Good coordination and communication skills

Basic computer skills (Excel, reporting)

Experience in genset, machinery or enclosure assembly is an added advantage
