Job summary

MAUD Architecture in Johor Bahru invites an Architectural Assistant to help develop concepts, create drawings, and communicate design ideas across stages from concept through detailing.

You will work with AutoCAD, Rhino, 3D Max, and rendering tools, contribute to tender and construction drawings, and join a design-focused, collaborative team that values growth and cross-border opportunities.

Qualifications

• Part 1 Architectural Assistant / Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent architectural degree.
• Good understanding of architectural principles, spatial planning, and design processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, 3D Max, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong skills in 3D modelling, visualisation, architectural drawing, and presentation.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing.
• Creative, curious, and willing to explore and develop design ideas.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a design-focused environment.

Responsibilities

MAUD is an architecture firm founded in London with strong roots in Taiwan. We focus on blending urban planning, architectural aesthetics, and visual storytelling to create impactful designs. As our team expands to Malaysia, with our office based at Public Bank Tower in the heart of Johor Bahru, we’re looking for one passionate Architectural Assistant to join us in turning creative visions into built reality.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing architectural concepts, ideas, and proposals.

Produce architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and diagrams using AutoCAD and Rhino.

Develop 3D models, renders, diagrams, and visual presentations to communicate design ideas.

Assist with design development from initial concepts through to detailed design stages.

Assist in preparing tender drawings, construction drawings, and architectural details.

Develop and update drawings and documentation based on project requirements.

Conduct research on architectural precedents, materials, construction methods, and design approaches.

Assist with material and finish selections and the development of design details.

Maintain a well-organised system for project drawings, 3D models, presentation materials, and project documentation.

Support design development, internal reviews, and project coordination in collaboration with senior architects and the project team.

Complete assigned tasks accurately and within project deadlines.

Skills & Qualifications

Part 1 Architectural Assistant / Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent architectural degree.

Good understanding of architectural principles, spatial planning, and design processes.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, 3D Max, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign.

Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing, with good attention to detail in developing clear architectural drawings.
