Job summary

Tentacle Tech is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join our on-site team in Kuala Lumpur. You will provide hands-on support for ERP, AR/AP, invoicing, GL, and CRM applications within a banking environment, coordinating with IT and vendor teams to resolve issues and implement changes.

We value candidates with 2–4 years in application support, strong SQL skills, and experience with SIT/UAT, change management, releases and deployments. Banking experience or ITIL familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in application support, production support or enterprise systems support.
• Hands-on experience supporting finance applications, particularly ERP, AR/AP, invoicing or GL systems.
• Strong SQL, log analysis and troubleshooting skills, with experience in incident and problem management.
• Experience with SIT/UAT, change management, release and deployment activities.
• Advantageous: exposure to banking or financial services, CRM, APIs, Linux/Unix or Windows Server, scripting, ITSM/ITIL

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and functional support for ERP, AR/AP, invoicing, GL and CRM applications.
• Monitor application availability, scheduled jobs, batch processes and system interfaces.
• Investigate and resolve incidents using SQL queries, log analysis and troubleshooting within agreed service levels.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and coordinate permanent fixes with development teams and vendors.
• Prepare and execute SIT, support UAT, and support deployments, production releases and post-deployment validation.
• Maintain application configurations, technical documentation and support procedures, and support DR exercises, audits and compliance activities.
• Provide after-hours support for critical incidents and scheduled releases when required

The Role

As an Application Support Engineer, you will be the go-to person for keeping critical finance applications reliable and available within a banking environment in the finance sector. You will provide technical and functional support across ERP, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), invoicing, General Ledger (GL) and CRM systems, working closely with finance users, internal IT teams and vendors to resolve production issues and support system changes. This is an onsite contract opportunity to build deep, hands-on expertise in enterprise finance systems.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline

2–4 years of experience in application support, production support or enterprise systems support

Hands-on experience supporting finance applications, particularly ERP, AR/AP, invoicing or GL systems

Strong SQL, log analysis and troubleshooting skills, with experience in incident and problem management

Experience with SIT/UAT, change management, release and deployment activities

Advantageous: exposure to banking or financial services, CRM, APIs, Linux/Unix or Windows Server, scripting, ITSM/ITIL
